Video contest rules Eligibility. Anyone can enter the competition, except for staff, directors, and officers of the organizers, and their respective spouses, parents, siblings, and children. Submissions from both individuals and teams are accepted. Winner/s: Once selected the winner/s will be required to send their full name, country of origin, a short biography and a photo to be used in the promotion of the competition. You will also need to send us additional information to transfer the prize money electronically. Under 18s: If you are under 18 you are eligible to participate in this Contest or appear in a video only if you obtain your parents’ or legal guardians’ express permission to participate. Proof of express permission may be requested. Organizers. The organizers of this contest are Black Lives Matter Southside, Helping Greater Community, The Kopy Shoppe and Holy Ghost Cathedral Deadline. The Video Contest closes on March 26, 2021 (central standard time 23:59). Submissions received after this time will not be considered. Prizes. 1st Prise $1000 Length and format. Your video should be a maximum of 5 minutes long. All video larger will be disqualified, in some cases, without notice. The video should illustrate the problem of systemic racism in neighborhoods or cities or states or America with a practical solution on the local level. Videos needs to be in English. Your video entry should Contain a 5 second video intro in the beginning with the words “Helping Greater Community - Black Lives Matter Southside Video entry by (your name)”. Submit your video email address protest@black-lives-matter.life Submit your entry. To submit your entry, use the form to upload your video. Complete the entire form and make sure the information is verifiable. This contest is void where prohibited. Check with your state or country: You can submit your video a compressed MPEG file less than 4MB. All Children must have a signed permission form. Parents will be contacted by our team at any time to verify or notify of status of entry. Helping Greater Community, Black Lives Matter Southside and The Kopy Shoppe will announce the winners first the top 25, then the top 10, then the final 5, then the winner. Filming others. Always get express permission from anyone who will appear in your video. Don’t film other companies’ logos. Do not include any logos, trademarks, designs, or other intellectual property or commercial property in your film other than the clip provided by us for the contest. You may not use the video for commercial solicitation or other promotional material, advertisements or personal solicitations, including referencing your or someone else’s company contact details. This may result in a disqualification without refund. Anything mean or violent will be taken down. No offensive or sensitive content is tolerated, that includes religious or anti/religious, racial, political, obscene, violent, or pornographic content. Only your work. You may only submit films that you have worked on yourself with your speech. Use of others’ work without permission will automatically disqualify a submission. Helping Greater Community,Black Lives Matter Southside, Holy Ghost Cathedral and The Kopy Shoppe will get full rights to the video(s) you submit. By submitting your entry to this Contest, you grant the Organizers (jointly and severally) a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive right and license to copy, distribute, and display each submitted entry, in any media including posting in an online gallery, publication(s), and various marketing materials, and with right to use, copy, modify, edit, and create derivative works therefrom, and agree to execute documents confirming such right and license at the Organizers’ reasonable request. By entering or permitting your child to enter, you understand that your/their entry (or portion thereof) may be (re-)posted online, in the Organizers’ sole discretion, to be viewed by members of the general public. Don’t do something illegal or film something illegal. Do not film any criminal or other illegal activity, or provoke others to do something illegal on your film. Waiver. By participating in this Video Contest, you agree that the Organizers will have no liability whatsoever (jointly and severally) for, and will be held harmless by the entrant team (jointly and severally) for any liability for any bodily injury, violation of personality or personal data, loss, cost or damages of any kind to persons, including death and property, damages sustained due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from your creation, use, or intended use of your entry, participation in this Contest, and the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize. This Contest and these Official Rules shall be exclusively governed by the substantive laws of Switzerland, without regard to its conflicts of law provisions. Disputes. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of, or in relation to, this contract, including the validity, invalidity, breach, or termination thereof, shall be resolved by the contest team and all rulings are final. This is the time we need to spread the word that systemic racism needs to end and equal justice under the law should apply to black people also. Moreover, we need to rally the black community around unity and support our on businesses and create financial independence within our community. Contest details We are looking for youth from the ages of 7-17 to submit videos between 3 to 5 minutes. The subject should be on social justice and community unity. All entries must be a digital video 5 minutes max. All entries over 5 minutes will be automatically rejected There is an entry fee of $6.00. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 pm (eastern time, US) on May 26, 2021. Winners will be announced no later than July 5, 2021.We reserve the right to extend or shorten the deadline without notice. All entries must be submitted in digital format. Through email to contest@blacklivesmattersouthside.info You must submit a signed/completed Parent Permission Form. Forms can be scanned/emailed to: Content must comply with all local and national laws of the country of origin and the United States. Content must not 1) promote illegal behavior; 2) support racial, religious, sexual or other invidious prejudice; 3) advocate sexual or violent exploitation; 4) violate rights established by law or agreement; 5) invade the privacy of any person; or 6) be otherwise inappropriate as determined by Population Connection in its sole and conclusive determination. The judges’ decision is final. Entries will be judged by topic, with winners in each of the three global challenge areas: Sustaining Water Systems, Ensuring Economic Opportunities, Improving Climate Resiliency. Decisions will be made based on the World of 7 Billion Judging Rubric. The only compensation for submitting a video is the opportunity to be awarded a prize if the entry wins. Population Connection will pay filmmakers no additional compensation nor be liable to the filmmaker under any circumstances. Students may submit as many videos entries as they wish. However, only 1 first place prize will be awarded per student/team, and no student/team may receive more than 2 awards total per contest cycle.
